Quality Cooking Equipment

By Madeline M. Madnessy

What kind of tools do you have in your kitchen? Do you have the cheapest appliances you could find or the same appliances you were given for free when you moved out of your house?

How is your cooking? Do you love to cook as much as you can or do you avoid the kitchen entirely? Do you ever feel like you can't make the foods you want because your kitchen is holding you back?

There are many different ways the quality of your kitchen tools can affect you. When you first bought your cheap, low quality kitchen tools and appliances, you probably didn't make much money and were just concerned with saving money.

First off, when you use cheap kitchen tools and cheap appliances, your will end up with poor quality results. A 20 dollar stand mixer will not mix at the effective efficiency as an expensive Kitchen Aid mixer.

Now I have something to tell you that you might not believe until I explain it to you. Cheap appliances and tools are not going to cheaper for you in the long run. You will end up spending more money over time.

How can this be? Let's say you buy a cheap twenty dollar coffee maker that makes bad coffee. You get it to make coffee for a couple years if your lucky until it breaks and you need a new one.

Now let's say you sprang for the 60 dollar coffee maker that lasts a lifetime. Even if you paid double for one that lasts 20 years, you'd still save a lot of money, and probably get better coffee, too.

There are quality tools and then there are just plain overpriced tools. Go for quality. Shop around and read reviews before you buy anything to make sure you really are saving money.
