Online Grocery Shopping: Money Saver or Not?

By Lisa Marshall

Tired of grocery shopping week in and week out: why not give online grocery shopping a try? If you try it you may just be hooked!

1. You will save a lot of time. I do not know about you, but time is most valuable to me. You can save several hours a week for something else you would rather do more than grocery shop. I like that idea.

2. You will save a lot of money. Really, grocery shopping online is cost effective. Many people find it difficult to shop without being distracted by displays designed to encourage impulsive purchases. Grocery marketers are very skilled at getting us all to spend more than we had intended. Shopping online encourages you to only buy what you need, reducing impulse spending.

3. You save stress and frustration. Yes, online grocery shopping is the absolute best for flexibility. You simply shop when you feel like it, in the comfort of your own home. No crowds, not pallets of merchandise to trip over and no over tired crying kids to sidestep. You shop when you want without the hassles and then set up delivery for when it is convenient for you to be home. What could be simpler?

4. Delivery is usually free. Online grocers need to compete with the bricks and mortar stores in order to prosper. The one way they can do that is with service. Free delivery is becoming the norm. You get all the convenience of online shopping, without the cost of the service. What could be better than that?
