Looking for a Pancake Recipe

By Karen M. T. Stone

Do you like pancakes? Pancakes are delicious and a favorite among many people. They taste so good when they're fluffy and golden brown, and you too can make delicious golden brown pancakes. It's not as hard as you probably think.

You have to choose a recipe in order to start making those delicious pancakes. There are so many different recipes out there, it's hard to choose just one. What recipe should you use for your pancakes?

When searching for a recipe, first decide what kind of pancakes you want to make. Do you want to make the good ol' fashioned basic pancake recipe or do you want to make something new like chocolate pancakes?

If you are a new cook, don't cook often, or are looking for something easy, go with a basic pancake recipe. The more basic it is, the harder it will be to mess up and the easier it will be to make delicious pancakes.

Also, make sure the ingredients listed are in your cupboard or if you're going out to get them that you know what to get. Don't use a recipe with strange ingredients that you don't understand.

Also, when looking for recipes, look at the instructions. This is especially important for beyond basic pancakes because some recipes will have processes you may not be familiar with. Skip these.

Did you know that 1 tbsp of lemon juice mixed with 1 cup of milk is a substitute for buttermilk? If a recipe calls for something you don't have but there's a substitute for it, use the substitute and save a trip to the store.

Now that you've chosen the recipe you want, get cooking. Follow the directions and if you are using a basic recipe, jazz it up by throwing in some fruit or chocolate chips for an extra flavor.
