What to look for in a Propane Grill

When it comes to buying a new grill, you don't want your dollars to be wasted. You've probably already figured out what type of grill that it is that you want, and since it happens to be a propane grill, you need to know exactly how to choose the best one for you. Of course, you are going to want to weigh the costs associated with different brands, and you want certain features, but you also need to consider the track record of the company you are considering purchasing from, and the cost of upkeep for the particular grill you want.

First, lets start with the choices you have for a propane grill. You can opt for either the portable propane grill or a backyard propane grill, and depending on what you want it for, one of the two will suit you better. If you like hosting large parties and cookouts with lots of family and friends, then the backyard grill is the way to go. If you're looking for something that is more lightweight, though, and easy to move around, you might want to consider a portable propane grill.

A good backyard grill can take care of anything from whole chickens and massive steaks, to racks of lamb and giant kabobs. They generally can't be moved around to easily, so if you are looking for easy transport, look at the portables. The backyard grill is a workhorse, and should be able to take a beating every weekend where the weather is beautiful.

Smaller areas where you don't have the space for a large backyard grill may require the use of a portable propane grill. These things are pretty handy because they can fit into tight spaces, they do a good job when cooking for just a small group, and they travel incredibly well. If you can afford it, it may be a good idea to get both a backyard and portable grill.

Manufacturers have come up with so many addons and additions for grills. First and foremost, make sure you grill is good at grilling. This means even heat... no cold spots or places that encourage flair ups. For accessories, consider things such rotisseries, drip pans to catch the grease, side burners, accessory holders, storage areas and shelving. Try not to go too crazy on the gadgets and gizmos, we've found that most people don't use many of the things that make their grill marked up.

If you are looking for a top of the line grill, most people look no further than Weber, and for good reason. Yes, they are pricey, but they also pump out some of the best quality grills in the industry. These things are built well, have great warranty's, and just plain do a good job at cooking evenly.
