Checklist For Camping

By Hasse Larsen

For those of you that are thinking of going on camping trips in the near future, you should be aware of the fact that there is a lot of things you have to remember. The planning process might be just as important as the trip itself.

There are a few things that you cannot be without on your trip. In this article I will tell you just what those things are. You can forget a lot, but if forget these things your trip will be hard to finish.

When I pack there is one thing I always make sure of first. That thing is the cooking equipment. There are a few alternatives to choose from that can range from only a box of matches to a big grill. Whatever you choose to bring, it is important that you don't forget it.

If you don't want to sleep outside in the rain, a camping tent is also very important to bring. The tents that you buy today can usually be compressed into a very small package that will not be very hard to carry. Be sure that you get a tent that is big enough so that you feel comfortable in it.

A sleeping bag should be a part of your basic camping equipment. Some people claim that they can easily sleep outside without a sleeping bag, but for me it is essential. It is the feeling of having something wrapped around my body when I sleep that makes it so important. You should also consider an inflatable mattress.

A map of the region that you are camping is very handy to have. A GPS device will also do just perfect.

These things are obviously important for the success of your camping trip. However, there is one thing that is more important than anything else for most people and that is food. Most people who go camping don't have a clue about how they can catch and prepare food in the wild. Therefore food is probably the most important thing to remember when going camping.
