DCS Grills Are a Dynamic Accessory To Any Outdoor Kitchen

By Mike Pit

Back in 1989 a company by the name of Dynamic Cooking Systems, or DCS, found some top engineers and appliance designers and began making cooking appliances. They started by manufacturing high performance "drop-in" cook tops which were eagerly sought by many commercial establishments. Their product line included griddles, convection ovens, broilers and high performance ranges. Ultimately, the got into the outdoor grill business.

To make outdoor grilling a comfortable year round experience, DCS also makes gas heaters to compliment their line of outdoor gas grills. This innovation and creativity led to their purchase by Fisher & Paykel in 2004. This added a worldwide network of manufacturing facilities, retail outlets and service centers. Fisher & Paykel makes products in over 40 countries.

DCS grills have a high quality construction, using 304 stainless throughout. That makes them one of the finest grills available. You don't have to worry about rust and they can handle year round cooking, if you're willing to brave the winters.

They've handled flare-ups with built in grate channels to direct the grease run off away from the flames. These grates have two sides, a smooth side for fish and vegetables and a courser side for producing sear lines in your steaks and other meat.

Each grill has 9-volt battery operated igniter and can come with burners that generate 25,000 BTUs and infrared burners that put out 14,000 BTUs. The grills range in size from 30 to 48 inches giving you from 575 to 646 square inches of grilling surface. DCS grills come ready to operate as a standalone unit, or can also be used as a drop-in. The largest of these grills can cook up to 50 lbs of meat at one time!

Take for instance the DCS 30", the smallest grill. Reviewers have called this model a 'subcompact Ferrari' because there are so many pluses to owning one! The design and abilities of this grill convey power with fantastic grilling abilities. There is a built-in grill light and radiant baffling allowing the grill to take extreme care of your food products. Radiant heat will spread evenly throughout the grill's entire surface and when the rods turn bright red and glow, there is a very strong radiant heat being emitted. This type of cooking works faster and keeps the natural flavor and juices within the food products.

If you have a natural gas hook-up, and you can get a grill configured for this. You'll also get fancy control knobs and their are other options available; like a rotisserie that takes advantage of the searing radiant and infrared heat. You can also get a warmer drawing power by electricity which can be used to keep food warm until it's ready to serve.

Their distribution network is worldwide through various outlets. The major names are Home Depot, Ferguson, Sears and Krup. You're not going to find many grills that compare to a DCS.
