Popcorn Makers Add A Excitement To Any Movie Night

By Matthew Penrod

Since the start of the entertainment era, popcorn makers have been used to make a great munchie. Popcorn has been a great snack that was invented by the Native Americans. This creation most likely happened when kernels were accidentally thrown into an open fire. Then it was discovered that this popping sound had a great taste.

While camping, in most situations, electric popcorn makers are not used. The reason being, old style camping introduces how to live off of the land with no modern privileges. Therefore, the earliest popcorn making techniques are exercised. Included with this, is the soaking of kernels of corn in butter. Then sizzling the kernels over an open flame until the heat becomes hot enough to pop the kernels into a nice, enjoyable snack for the whole family.

Another old method of making popcorn is by using an electric pop corn maker. Some of these are equipped with a small container on the top. This container adds butter while the kernels are popping. This type of maker ensures all the popcorn gets buttered evenly. These types of electric popcorn poppers are available in canister style. The material used to make these can be metal or plastic.

To introduce a new and quick way to make some popcorn for the family, is to purchase some microwavable popcorn. There are several competitors that make this style of popcorn in a variety of different flavors. This method is the easiest because a person simply tears off the plastic wrapper, places the package with the described side up, and sets the microwave for about three minutes. Some modern microwaves are equipped with a special button marked popcorn. A user just hits this button and in a few minutes there is some hot steamy popcorn.

The trouble with microwavable popcorn is when the popcorn gets burned. The smell can linger inside the home for days. Burning popcorn in the microwave happens easily because not all microwaves put out the same amount of heating power. Thus the time needed to cook the popcorn varies from appliance to appliance.

The best thing about any type of corn used for popping is, it is very inexpensive. Even if you like caramel popcorn, it is very easy to make and very good to eat. Some industrial snack companies have taken traditional popcorn a step further by mixing peanuts with popcorn in clusters. This snack is very fattening, but tastes awesome with a huge glass of milk.

Popcorn can be flavored by using many powders that are available now. There is a butter flavor, and also cheese flavors that can be purchased almost anywhere. These powders are supposed to be healthier for the human body. However, most of these products do not develop a strong flavor of cheese and butter. Real butter and cheese along with a good popcorn maker will satisfy the cravings of movie theater popcorn.

Whichever way an individual decides to pop the kernels is not important. All methods of popping corn have the same result. Excellent popcorn.
