Keep These In Mind When Buying A Deep Far Fryer

By Lance Esondi

Most people like the taste of fried foods. These foods aren't very good for you but do taste good. Some of the most popular are French fries and fried chicken. If you get your own deep fat fryer, these items can be made at home. Before getting a fryer, you need to be aware of a few things.

You don't need a large fryer. The bigger it is, the more oil you have to deal with. Get a small fryer because they will do everything you need them to do. They heat up quickly and can cook food fast. If you need extra of whatever you are making, it cooks so fast you can just half it up and cook it that way. You don't need more than 4 liters of oil for home use.

Look for baskets in the fryers that have handles that don't heat up. At times these can be annoying and others times they can burn you. Look for handles that are made to not heat up so you don't have to worry about them being too hot.

Make sure your fryer has a thermostat. Some fryers just turn on and off which doesn't give you enough control over your food. Some fried foods taste completely different if cooked on a high heat versus a lower one. It's important to have control over the temperature of the food you cook.

At times fryers can cause fires. Water will not put out these fires but only make them worse spreading the grease fire around your kitchen. To be extra safe have a portable fire extinguisher on hand so that you will be able to put out these fires.

When you get your fryer look for recipes that you can use with it. There are quite a few interesting combinations that you can come up with that do taste good fried. The more recipes you try the better food you can come up with for you and your guests.

Enjoy the food and have fun cooking with it, but don't eat fried food every single day because it's not very healthy.
