Great Recipes For Vegetarian Kids

It is really challenging to bring up vegetarian kids. You need to constantly find substitutes for protein instead of meat. Even if you are a parent who just wants their child to eat more vegetables, then be sure to make any of these recipes for vegetarian kids.

Not just healthy, they are tasty and fun to make too.

Vegetable curry - Chop potatoes, carrots, aubergines, courgettes and pumpkin into bite-sized pieces. Then boil them in some curry paste and coconut milk. Vegetable curry is extremely healthy and will accustomise your kids to spices. First make a mild curry, and you and more spices as they grow up.

Spinach ravioli - It is possible to buy packet spinach ravioli or make them yourself. You can make these fun to eat but discussing how many to make and involving the kids. Alternative fillings are cheese or mushrooms. Serve the ravioli with a tomato sauce and sprinkle on some Parmesan cheese. The advantage is this recipe is that it uses spinach which many children will not eat.

Vegetable quesadillas - This recipe for vegetarian kids is really easy and fast to make. Fill two pieces of tortilla with cheese and red and green peppers. Then toast this under the grill or in the toaster until the cheese melts and sticks it together. A home-made salsa of finely chopped onions, tomatoes, and cilantro can be served with it. Pour some sour cream over it and you have a colourful and tasty meal that kids will love.

Grilled vegetable sandwich - Marinate some peppers, zucchini, eggplant, tomatoes and onions in olive oil and balsamic vinegar with salt and pepper. Grill these on a grill pan or bake in the oven. When vegetables are soft use them as a filling between two slices of toasted whole-wheat bread or ciabata. This is a healthy and great lunch recipe. Entice you children by serving it with some home-made chips.
