For anyone who has lived or visited Montreal, Canada, they can surely tell you how the restaurants in Montreal are excellent. Although no one can really tell you why, some of the best restaurants in the world are in this beautiful city.

It could be because of the huge melting pot of the various cultures who immigrated to the city, and brought their specialties with them. It could also be due to the fact that many Montrealers like trying different types of cuisines. The point is, if you enjoy eating excellent food, then Montreal is the place to be. And don't worry about prices. All the cuisines are available for any budget.

It may also be that the residents because Montrealers enjoy eating out on a regular basis and will not settle for acceptable food. Their standards are set much higher than that.

Regardless of what type of food you are craving on a given day or night, you'll find it in Montreal. Any Asian specialty restaurants are located throughout the town and in all types of budgets. You will even find truly authentic Asian restaurants in Chinatown.

But, it doesn't end there. Most of these restaurants are serving food in aesthetically pleasing surroundings, making your experience even more memorable. There is something to be said of eating excellent food in a beautiful location. This city is known for people dressing up to go out to great places.

For those who want to try foods from any or all European countries, this is the place to do it. You'll find everything you can ever dream of right here in Montreal. Whether it's Mediterranean, Scandinavian, South American or whatever, it is here. And the best part is that all these great foods can be had throughout the entire city. In other words, you don't have to be downtown to get to enjoy them.

But, for visitors who are very happy staying within the limits of their hotel, these guests would find excellent meals prepared and served by top chefs in the hotel restaurant. Of course, they would have to be top chefs as they serve VIPs continuously.

When we speak of the city being known for its fine restaurants, it would be a crime not to mention some specialties of the region. One specialty being smoked meat, cannot be missed. It is similar to corned beef, only better. It is specially cut and served as a thick sandwich on rye bread. Poutine is another popular dish in Quebec that everyone should try. This can either be eaten as a side dish or as a main course. If you like french fries, gravy and curd cheese, you simply must try it.

The bottom line is that the residents of this fine city are very different from any other Canadians or Americans. The city is different too. This is thanks to the French culture. But, it is also due to the various immigrants from the various countries throughout the world that have settled here and brought their traditions and cultures with them. They have successfully introduced their cuisines to others and have always provided the best food they can.
