Why Choose a Stainless Steel Charcoal Grill?

By Rudy C. Tutten

Don't believe what you might see on television - preparing food with a charcoal grill is a bit more difficult than simply turning it on. That said, some people still prefer using a charcoal grill for their outdoor cooking.

Many people feel that the flavor imparted by grilling with charcoal is worth a little extra time and difficulty. There is a distinct smoky flavor that can only be produced by a charcoal grill that makes it worth the effort for people who love the outdoors.

A stainless steel charcoal grill that is designed to be ultra lightweight would be perfect for backpackers. This would be very convenient just pack away. However, it would also have limitations in terms of capacity. There may be a need to have several batches of burgers and hot dogs before a bigger group can be satisfied with their meal.

People who own an RV as well as those who are regularly renting recreational vehicles would be better off with something with a bigger capacity. They can afford to do so because they have a more convenient means for transportation. These kinds of stainless charcoal grill are somewhere in the middle of the ultra light weight class and the really bulky ones intended for home use.

A stainless steel charcoal grill that is intended for picnics should be equipped with features practical for that specific purpose. For instance, it should have a deep cover so that it can still be utilized even for bigger food items to be grilled.

That way, the heat will be aimed at the food you are grilling rather than being wasted. The result would be that you use less charcoal and get your food grilled more quickly.

A great feature is that it is not that hard to clean a stainless steel charcoal grill. It's very convenient when it comes to maintaining a stainless steel charcoal grill as it has natural non-stick properties. Ordinary grills must be thorough scrubbed in a time-consuming cleaning ritual or corrosion will set in when they are exposed to the elements.

Maintenance would be as easy as washing it with soapy water after removing the burnt coal and leftovers from the barbecue. Lemon slices would be just the thing for keeping your grill smelling fresh and clean.
