World of Warcraft Cooking Guide

By Brian Benson

Cooking in WoW is a great skill to earn, and although it's not completely necessary, it does mesh well with several other professions, such as a fishing. You can actually earn a moderate amount of gold with your cooking skill and you don't have to put forth a lot of effort, making it a lot fun for most players to give it a try. If you are looking to change things up, this is a skill that is more than worthwhile to learn.

It was only after the Burning Crusade that a lot more opportunities have opened up, and people became interested in giving this profession a try. This may be another way to earn extra gold because you will be able to make some things that other players may need, and thus, have fun in the process

Starting Out

Fire is an important must-have once you have decided on cooking as a skill. Aside from this, you will need the following: Simple Wood, Flint, and Tinder. These items are relatively easy to find, so it should not be much of a problem to get them. Once you have all of the items, you have to open your Spellbook. Since most players know how to make a Basic Campfire, you don't really need extra training at the moment.

The cookbook can also be found in the Spellbook. Open it up to take a sneak peak at the recipes you may want to try. However, bear in mind that your fire will not last too long. Since wood is needed to start a fire, only do so when you are about to start cooking as not to waste the fire or the wood for that matter. Just choose the suitable ingredients that you will need for each recipe, and find yourself cooking in an instant.

You may notice that the recipes require a few other items in order to complete. Here's a sample recipe for Crocolisk Steak. You'll need to have one Crocolisk Meat and one set of Mild Spices. These can be purchased from a vendor, or you can go out and buy your own.

Completing your apprenticeship now means that you are ready to move on. If you lack any items, you may purchase those from a cooking trainer, so you may have to use only a little a time at first. However, advancing and further questing can give you easier access to items you may need for your recipes.

Advancing

As you start out, expect that you won't have more of what you actually need in order to prepare advanced recipes. Here now is a fast approach of progressing in skill from level 1 to 375 easily. You have to begin in Ironforge. Here, you could buy one flour and a set of mild spices in order for you to prepare your first recipe of Spiced Bread. This recipe is very simple and would help you advance to 40. Once you've finished that part, you will need getting 30 mild spices and some more wood as well. Now, go to Auberdine to look for a Moonkin. You have to keep on killing it until getting around 20 eggs or even more. This task bolsters your skill level to 60.

From here, go down to Ashenvale and find the Crawlers. They will be dropping clams as they go and you will have to collect as many as you can. Once you have collected enough, return to Ironforge. Cook the eggs you recently collected from Moonkin and sell them. You should then go out and find a cooking trainer to train you how to cook the clams you just picked up earlier. By that time, your skill level should have already reached about 130. Go and get the expert cookbook and trust that you will be on your way to level 375 in no time at all.
