What to look for in a Propane Grill

You don't want to waste money when you are purchasing a propane grill. You want to get everything you need, nothing you don't, and the best price possible. You will consider the costs, makes, models and features, but there are some other things you are going to want to consider, such as upkeep and who you purchase the grill from.

Do you plan on keeping your grill at your house for good, or do you plan on traveling with it to friend's houses, tailgating parties, etc? Portable propane grills are perfect if you think you'll be traveling quite a bit. They won't stand up to frequent home grilling use, but they are good for occasionally grilling when not overused and made to do more than they can really handle.

A good backyard grill can take care of anything from whole chickens and massive steaks, to racks of lamb and giant kabobs. They generally can't be moved around to easily, so if you are looking for easy transport, look at the portables. The backyard grill is a workhorse, and should be able to take a beating every weekend where the weather is beautiful.

If you are lacking in the space department for a grill, you may want to consider the portable grill as well. Portable grills don't have a big footprint, so they may be a better fit for you. Plus, since they are easy to move, you can put them away and pull them out only when needed. They are very handy, and do a good job as long as you aren't trying to cook for a huge crowd.

Manufacturers have come up with so many addons and additions for grills. First and foremost, make sure you grill is good at grilling. This means even heat... no cold spots or places that encourage flair ups. For accessories, consider things such rotisseries, drip pans to catch the grease, side burners, accessory holders, storage areas and shelving. Try not to go too crazy on the gadgets and gizmos, we've found that most people don't use many of the things that make their grill marked up.
